Stress Urinary Incontinence

Childbirth is one of nature’s great miracles, but it can be rough on the birth canal. Natural childbirth predisposes women to urinary incontinence (UI)at some point during their lifetime. And the more children delivered through the birth canal, the more likely a woman is to develop UI along with vaginal looseness or laxity.

Even childless women have a 10-20% chance of UI during their lifetime.
There are several types of UI, including stress incontinence(the most common type)where even mild exertion or a sneeze can cause leakage, urge incontinence where there is a constant urge to go, and overflow incontinence where the bladder fails to empty properly.

Sadly, UI and vaginal laxity can undermine a woman’s confidence, restrict her activity, and lead to decreased libido and sexual satisfaction.

    More About Stress Urinary Incontinence

Until recently, most women suffered through UI and restricted their activity, wore absorbent pads, or underwent complicated surgery. Then along came Viveve®, a revolutionary, non-invasive, safe and effective vaginal and urinary restoration system.

Viveve® works by delivering cryogen-cooled, radiofrequency waves to the vaginal tissue to stimulate new blood vessel growth and collagen regeneration.

Treatment results in firmer vaginal tissue, improved natural lubrication, and greater support around the ureter, improving urinary control for the most common forms of UI.

Only one treatment needed for most women.
The Viveve® treatment is equipped with a small probe that is used on the external and internal tissue of the vagina. The built-in cooling system ensures a comfortable temperature. There is no bleeding nor any tissue damage.
After receiving a Viveve® treatment, some patients have reported experiencing immediate results.
For most patients, results take effect within 3 weeks of treatment with a gradual increase in collagen production and vaginal health over a period of 30-90 days.
Proven Results from a Clinical Study on the Efficacy of the Viveve® Treatment
As with any medical treatment, you want to know that studies have been conducted to test its safety and efficacy. The US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health reported on a study that evaluated the safety and effectiveness of the cryogen-cooled, radiofrequency treatment for stress urinary incontinence (SUI). The findings of the study “indicate[d] an improvement in SUI symptoms and quality of life” up to 6 months, as reported by the patients who participated in the clinical trial. A follow-up study demonstrated sustained improvement up to 12 months after treatment. We offer a free, confidential consultation to demonstrate how Viveve® can help with urinary control and improve your self-confidence.

Generally, a single session using the Viveve® treatment system is necessary to gain significant control over stress urinary incontinence.  Some women with severe incontinence of long duration may obtain additional benefit from a second treatment session.

The non-surgical treatment sessions last just one hour and full activity can be resumed immediately.

Enhanced urinary control can be expected to last from one to two years or more.

Viveve® treatment costs far less than surgery and is more cost-effective than long-term medical therapy. Our charges are all-inclusive of evaluation, treatment, and follow up. Financing is available.
